1996 502MagMPI Spark Control Module
#14
Well Guys, I guess I found the problem.
On Saturday I changed the Cap Rotor and IC Module.
The same codes, 42 and 43 came right back. I again checked the wiring then through my hand up in the air. It was too F'n hot and I had enough...
Sunday morning I went out early and changed the ECU with a 1994 unit I had purchased for a fellow OSO'r.
The engine started up and seems to run fine. I checked for fault codes, None.
I went boating and she run OK for the most part; I have a power steering pump problem, but...
After running for a 1/2 hour I check for faults and had none.
Hmmm...
Now, do I have to have the ECU reprogrammed?
I'll start another thread.
