Remote Oil Filter Kit Marine OR Auto?
Using a SBC and want to use a remote oil filter kit. Seems like the Mercruiser kit is approx $300.00. A Quality aftermarket automotive kit is about 50% less...Is there any reason not to go with a automotive version. If no one has a preference how about any tips on mounting locations or installation. Thanks in advance......

Had the same problem on my SBC, went the automotive route, ordered a reloc-kit from summit (SUM G4985)for 39.95$ with all hoses, clamps and stuff. O.k. these are cast parts, but so are the Merc. originals. Buying at Eddie, Rex, Cpperformance, just to name a few, is a lot more expensive. They offer the fancy, shiny billet stuff which is overkill for an oil filter kit (just my 02)
The summit kit works perfect for a fraction of the cost...
I made a bracket to locate the filter at the backside of the head, easy job, no prob.
Hope this helps
