Default trim fluid

what are you running in your trim pump for fluid ? right now I have amsoil power st. fluid is there a better fluid ?

I used light weight mobile one synthetic motor oil. Is the a better fluid? Maybe. Will you notice a difference? Most likely not. It is what was available to me when my plastic cap popped off my resivoir and made a mess of my bilge.

We found if you use ATF Dexron, the drives or tabs moved faster than 10W30 dinosaur oil.

You mean AMSOIL ATF right, because I don't believe they make actual power steering fluid. That ATF would be the best application anyways. I use it in my tabs too.

ATF is approx a 15w fluid, you want them to move faster use a 10w hyd. oil or a 10w motorcycle fork oil.

How about regular hydralic oil?or jack oil?

Why not? It has the hydraulic additive package; anti-rust, anti-foam, anti-wear, etc.

Are you sure? I had an oil rep. tell me ATF is more like 5w.

He is right, it is nowadays. Anywhere from 5w to 10w. New transmissions require a lighter viscosity for fuel economy and tight tolerances.
