Very common problem with MSD's and marine use.

seems like every MSD distributor I have had dropped at my shop from a marina is a big ball of rust inside. They obviously have a venting issue as well as cheap chinese plating on the advance mechanisms. I usually use new parts inside but I clear coat them and then corrosion block spray them before reassembly. I have thought about drilling some vent holes and screening them like I do with GM hei marine conversion units but there just isn't much room in the housing floor for it.
