I worked in an engine airflow facility for many years. The reason Extrude hone has never caught on is that is DOES NOT WORK. Well, ok, yes it does take out material, but the problem is, it takes out material in precisely the WRONG places.
Cylinder head or intake manifold porting is complicated work. It's not just a matter of hogging out material. The process takes out the most material were the sludge is moving fastest, and very little where it is moving slow. Often this is the opposite of what you want to have happen. (that's a simplified explaination, the more technically correct explaination gets into stuff like Reynolds Number and would require me to break out my college fluids text and would put everyone to sleep)
I recall a coworker tested several heads or manifolds that had the process done to them and they almost always lost flow or the gain was minor in comparison to a properly ported version
