Who does extrude honing ??

I have 2 intakes that I would like to get extrude honed to open up airflow a bit. I live near Chicago IL.

Is there anybody in the Midwest that does this or do I need to send them to Cali??

Thanks !!!

A number of these guys are cutting them out on their own with good results. I was contemplatine sending it to ASM but did not want to wait 6 mos. I never could figure out how it is a 6 mos process. Eddie Young bored out mine.

I cut mine out with a mill the best I could then had it hand ported the rest of the way,I have had several people who would like me to help set them up with top ends who could benefit from professional extrude honing,I would love to hear a source other then azsm,Smitty

I suspect the reason it takes so long is that AZ can't just send one- they have to get a batch together. Maybe "can't" isn't the right word- but you probably wouldn't like the price.

Smokey Yunick was doing the process in his shop back when I was in short pants- attempting to bypass a NASCAR rule on porting. Although the process took days to accomplish. I suspect he was using carbide in a light oil solution and using a diaphragm pump to circulate it.

I know a guy that works at extrude hone and he said that there is a link on there web site that will take you there, he thought it was honeit.com, but from what I found it looks like it should be http://www.gethoned.com/ they specialize in the jobshop are doing a lot of NASCAR and drag cars as well.
