Thanks Bob I fixed it. I am ready to get it in the boat and give her a run. I raised my expectations from 103 to about 107. We will find out soon.

That's a beautiful boat, the new engine looks great, but I am curious if that speed was on radar, GPS or speedometer?

Thanks, the speed was on gps. My old 22 also ran low 80s gps.

I was just curious, I bought a 22 Porpoise from Dave at Northcoast back in 1997. It came with his taillight guarrantee. I had a little over 750HP, on a good day when I could keep it from bouncing 5 feet in the air it would run 104 on the gps. Hopefully they've changed the hull design and yours won't be a death trap like mine. Good luck.

I had the old style hull also. Mine was a 03, I dont know if it was the same bottom as the 97 or not. I think mine had a single step hull. Anyway it had a low speed porpoise and one about 75 to 78. I added Dana fixed tabs and cured the problem.
The new hull is wider, deeper and dual stepped. It has no porpoise and drives like a 25 or 26. I dont expect any problems. The new 22 with 525s run 98 out of the box so I am hoping for 105 to 110.
I have not had any issues with Dave but, not everyone gets along with everybody.

Dave sent me a set of the fixed tabs, in a box. After the install the boat would either still porpoise or it would slam into every wave, and on occasion stuff the front under. Dave had some good excuses, he met me at the river one day, drunk , he was going to show me how to drive. After he almost flipped it several times, he brought it back to the dock and said, yep you have a problem . I got so sick of it, in 2001 I tried to trade it in on a 25 Daytona but ELIMINATOR wouldn't take it. Anyway this thread isn't about me, you're boat is beautiful, the engine looks great, have a good time with it.

It definately sounds like that hull had a setup problem or something. There is a guy in Shreveport running that style hull to 126 with a quad rotor GT Performance 1200. I just had a HO in my old one but, he is pooring the power to it. I have not looked at the back of his hull to see the set up. I wonder if they changed the bottom of those hulls. I think Jerrys is a 03also.
Anyway thanks for the compliments and I will update with speed and handleing in a few weeks.

People tell me I'm crazy, 126 in a 22 has to be a hell of a ride.
I"m sure yours is going to run good too.

22 Daytona, do you know what that hull weighs less engine/outdrive? Just curious. I used to have a 22 Talon.
