[QUOTE=Wild Card 09;2720506]580 hp, 71 mph and you are still 400rpm below the peak power.
What prop are you running. IŽd expect it to be a 26" (on a 1.5 drive) with those figures. Labbed?
Yes, IŽd say you are ploughing deep with your current settup. The picture confirms that, too. The notch will effectively mean that the drive can be a tad higher than a similar hull without a notch, anyway.[/QUOTE
THe drive is a 1.5. I running a stock B 26. I would like to try a 26 labed. Thinking I pick up a few RPM on the top end. What would the do for my mid range (cruise speed)?
Guess I'll have to wait till next summer.

Stock 26". You really should try a couple of labbed props before going the shorty route.
With a labbed prop you may lose a couple of mph at cruise speed, but see them added on again at WOT!
Your deep mounted drive may respond well to a 3 blade, with the additional side effect of gaining some more bow lift.
Borrow a bunch of props, and try them, running the same routine each time. 20 -30 mins is enough to get a "seat of pants" feel for what each one does.
You will learn so much about your boat, and what it likes, that way!
You should be able to find 75 mph pretty quickly. After that it becomes more difficult. If your Sonic is anything like my 25OL(non step, old school hull), you will be 2 mph slower in anything appoaching glassy calm water, but may even find an extra mile running in chop that looks seriously scary to be running WOT and trimmed out in. Just take care, please.
Always wear lanyard and PFDŽs.

I have trie a few props. Tried a Hydromotive 26. Same top speed, lost 5 mph at cruise. Also a reworked 28 Not sure wat was done to it, think repitched to a 27. A 25 pitch Revolution 4 Speeds were about the same as the Bravo. It did get the boat up easier than the bravo. Ran out time this year, problems with the drive.

I'm running a 28 Bravo 1 on the 2' shorty. My goal was to cruise 50 @ 3800. Depending on the water conditions I'm @ 47 to 52 @ 3800. With 650 hp its put WOT around 75. Heavy boat. 6000lbs, I built a new motor last year little over 700hp and 700 torque. Thunder and lighting (Old Keith Eckert exhaust ) sold by Diamond Performance parts.com. 30" trim Tabs helped a lot. Email me your # if you want to talk.
