575 sci's

What does Merc recomend for fuel for 575's? I am getting a pair and 93 is not available in OKLA that I can find, just 91. Will I need Octane boost? Any other advice on these motors would be great too. My first SC motors so help a brother out. About 250 hours and top ends have been done already.
Thanks, Quinlan

91 was the latest requirement.

Good motor, depending on the supercharger model you need to keep an eye on the rear bearings of the SC.

I loved mine and never had a problem with it.

What are you getting?

With 91 Octane you'll be fine.

The motors are in a 02 Top gun. Waiting on a new trailer to take delivery. Von Bongo, I have heard about the bearing issues and not sure what has been done to the SC's. What should I ckeck for? Was there a certin year that they had issues?
Thanks again Quinlan

An 02' will be a Weiand supercharger, they have
"wet" bearings in the rear.

The oil in the front and rear need to be changed
periodically.

The later B&M's with the sealed ball bearings
in the rear were the one's that had issue's.

They're great engines.
you'll love them.

Is this the boat ?

Your good Jaay!!! Anybody no any history? I have been told it was in the National Marine fiasco.

I'd pull them off as soon as you get them and send them to the blower shop to be rebuilt. It isn't real expensive and cheap insurance for a couple trouble free years of boating.

If you don't know the history of them, I wouldn't take the chance but that will be up to you.

I actually found a used blower and sent it to TBS for rebuild...then sent the others in one at a time.....didn't miss a single day and I have the spare ready to go.........and you will love the 575sci package.......I love mine. Just this season they hit 300 hrs and I am now in the process of a complete overhaul.....overall they were still in good shape but best I did it know rather then in the middle of summer........ good luck wih your new boat she is a beauty!!!!!
