the wide limit is DOT and not by state, they have differnt takes on it but 8'6" is all states, now I used to tow a 10'6" boat about 20 miles twice a year, I would have a wide load banner across the back and a vehicle following....so it looked like I was legal, did it for 9 years and never got caught...but more recently I have 2 differnt friends get popped and the fines were big !! understand they are keeping a eye out for wide stuff and the $$ they can make off it..like everything else these days !! Any suggestions on a towing vehicle??? I own a 2008 f-250 with air bags already. I tow a 31' 12500# toy hauler now. I will only be towing 30 miles on flat ground.... stopping and being able to see down the sides of the boat are my concerns.
Since no one ever answerd your actual question your f250 will do the job if it is a diesel , an f350 dually diesel would be the ticket. ps what boat did you get:D |

I'd like to think I would have that kinda luck  but my luck isn't usually good :D...how far do you tow on average HotPursuit?
Returning from Jacksonville AJ got held up for hours at the FLA state line when he went through the scales I was behind him had a dot car on side the road my sponson passed over his mirror and they didn't come get me. My truck has a personal plate and I took all the wide load crap of the trailer. If you get the permits you have to be 100% when you go through the scales!! And every state is not the same. For one thing most people dont know is the speed limit for wide load is like 55, WTF. I would upgrade to a 350 if your pulling from the hitch |

Far north as Loto ,east jacksonville, west lake texoma... Dont use a commercial truck!! Most permits dont let you drive at night, weekends or holidays so I wouldn't pass anyway..
