Lift Eyes

We need to come up with a set of lift eyes for the deck of a large cat. If memory serves, one of the magazines promoted a folding lift eye that was flush with the deck when lowered. However, memory does not give me any other details. Can anyone suggest a sanitary alternative, or recall which magazine ran this promo?

Thx

I had mine made by a mashine shop ,but they are not foldable.
Also i think the realy shouldn't be because of the load on them,,,,i would not thrust a folding lift hook?!

flush mounts

there is a type that flush mounts and attaches at the bottom using a piece of 5/8x11 threaded rod that goes to a piece of angle that you must supply. typically the angle mounts to the stringer or bulkhead. seen a supercat team use them. but you might wanna make sure the actually pop-up eye is mounted solidily with the diagonal load on the lifting eye it was elongating the hole in the deck because of the side force. i can get the model # for above.

the other way is to call marine machine and they can make almost anything you want.

SkaterDave, are you saying the lift eye does not attach to the deck at all?

skaterdave 01-12-2009 04:30 PM

correct

yes the spring loaded flush mount lifting eye attaches to the deck with just 4 small screws or flat head machine screws. the load is carried by the piece of threaded rod that is attached to something structual. ie stringer or bulkhead
