mercruiser oil fittings???
Does anyone know who make mercruiser oil hoses ? I'm tring to find the fitting to make up some hoses, they are 1/2 inverted flare fitting . The hydraulic shop has some fittings but they are to large . I need to find some smaller fitting similar to merc's hoses, I can have them made for 1/4 the cost .

Find an aeroquip dealer in your area. They have everything.

right... and convert to conventional 37 deg adapters so all your hose ends are now conventional

Merc Hose Headache
I have been down this track mate.
The aeroquip setup will cost the same as merc but check it out first. I ended up buying tube , flare nuts and the crimp fittings to suit. Bend and cut the tube(flare nut on first) Modify crimp fitting to accept tube Silver solder tube to crimp fitting Take back to hydraulic shop to crimp hoses. Worked out about half the cost $60. bucks Aussie each. All stainless steel fittings , Braided hose. Hope this helps Cheers |
I did 2 engines for 36.00
8 fittings, 4 push on blue hyd line works great Here is their website here in the detroit area, call them and they will know exactly what you are doing....its a popular set up http://www.fluidsystemseng.com/parke...e-michigan.htm 586-790-8880 |
I believe the merc hoses on the 420 I'm working on were made by Gates.

I went with aero-quip and -12 lines the merc stuff is too small

Just check the temp. rating of the hose you end up and use as some is not rated for the temps that engine oil can get to.
