Plan on upgrading to aluminum heads and ECU reprogram also. Just wondering if the 741 would make much difference over the stock cam?

Thanks, Steve

It would probably add some HP up top then. I would talk to rmbuilder about a proven package. He can get you the best cam and heads to make the best package and most HP.

Are you going to have the ecm's tuned on a dyno????
If not, you may want to also consider calling Mark at Precision Marine. I have read very good things about about his ecm calibrating and engine builds. He probably has done something with exactly what you want to do and has an ecm program that will work the first time. From what I have read, the stock upper intake on the 500EFI is the biggest problem to overcome.

I'm looking for info on a MHP-300. Sounds like it is a Crane also. Does anyone know any info on this one?

Griff 03-03-2009 01:26 AM

I'm guessing the MHP stands for Mercury High Performance.

Another guess would be that the 300 is from a 500 HP carbed engine. Just guessing though.
