Default bravo III and 500efi

question... stock merc 500efi's with bravo III's pushing a 15-16000lbs boat...are those drives going to handle the weight and HP???

yea...no hole shots at all...would be better with XR's i'm sure...thanks for the info......didn't want to buy, hit the water and learn the hard way...

Formula was smoking them on their 400SS's with that setup which is why they started installing Simrek showers on the drives from the factory and Merc evenutally came out with the Bravo III XR.

I'm looking at a 03 400ss with 500efi and the bravo III's and that is my concern is the weight and HP threw the drives...I'm not one to baby something from a stand still

I know someone who had a 370 SS with 525's and Bravo III XR's with no issues.

what kind of performance is he getting in his 370 with the 525's?
