Volvo 496 runs only on one cylinderbank
Hi
My Volvo 2002 496 runs, but only on one cylinderbank, maybe one cylinder is firing, and it is also running at a very high idle speed. what could be wrong ? any sensors ?
Erik

You need to get a scan tool from Rinda Technologies in Chicago, Illinois, USA. You can then scan the engine for trouble codes and identify whats really wrong. Everything else is a hit or miss guess at best.

It's probably in guardian mode. The most common cause on Volvos is the little temp sensors on top of the exhaust risers. Just disconnect the wires from them one at a time, it should pick up. The engine won't run on only one cylinder.
