water in exhaust port

pulled header and water was in port, pressurerized the header it wont leak:mad:. so im thinking head gasket comp is low on both cyl. amigoingin the right direction.

need more details on the motor ect ....you say header? Or stock exahust? Is it just one cylinder?

Sometimes headers only leak when heated. Do a search as this topic has been discussed numerous times.

Might not be a leak. Could be gasket, head, reversion or many other issues.

Do a leak down on the cylinder in question.

I Pressured Up The Block And Can Hear Air Coming Out The Exhaust Port And Comp Is Low On That Cyl And The One Next To It.

Just the facts?

You might need to give us some more details here for us to help. Leaking out the exhaust valves on those two cylinders could be caused by water damage or could be contributing to the water damage, what engine,, with particulars and engine hours, what cam and specs., what exhaust type, captains call, silent choice? etc.? Real facts get Real Help!

You clearly have an exhaust valve issue. Maybe you can pull the valve cover and get lucky and find something repairable like a broken valve spring, but odds are high the head needs to come off. Probably a bent/tuliped valve or a seat issue.

im going to pressure ck it again and do a leak down, im thinking its a headgasket:mad:

When an exhaust valve doesn't seat because it is bent or some other reason, it will cause serious amounts of water to be inhaled through the exhaust.

I'm not sure how you guys are thinking head gasket when air is coming out the exhaust when the cylinder is pressurized?? The gasket would have to be completely gone and you would have hydlolocked. What were the symptoms before shutdown last time?

If you have a cast iron head, I have seen leaking on the exhaust port from a hole, and if the compression is down it may be from the water being in the cylinders over a period of time. Try some soap in a spray bottle while it's under pressure and look for bubbles.
