Amount of exhaust pulses and time inbetween them. Yeh, prob some other things, but this is the biggest when comparing to the same motor + 2 cylinders.
As example: making a y pipe and then entering water after the Y would work much better than duals or enetering water before the Y.
A 10 cylinder with same firing order would be better than it's 8 counterpart. A 12 cylinder even better.
Thus, why increasing idle speed has a big effect also. Time !!!
BTW: Yes, this is CFM from the other site. LOL.

So its back to duration time's again hmmm only this time less duartion creates more reversion..It seem's abusurd that a engine with greater vacum would create less reversion...but in your example the postive pulse seem's to negate the negative pulse.
Make's sense for longer exhaust flow slowing down the velocity or is it a distance traveled vs the pulse frequencey.
Question Creating a H pipe between the exhaust lines..That should negate or scanvenge some of the overlap ..Not???
Nice to see you CFM i am about ready to start..just a few last speed bumps being smoothed out.
