roller lifters hours ??

How many hours can be safe on my 2000 hp 500 roller lifters , they look in great shape with 400 hrs on them.

If all the rollers are in good condition, turn freely, and are not loose, I'm not sure they have a life limit.
but I'm sure others with more info: will chime in.

they would be in the scrap bin if they were mine.

Personally, I can't believe they lasted that long in a 2000 horsepower 500 cid engine! :evilb:

Sorry, I've been sick and cooped up in the house for 2 days!

It's not the roller thet goes away it's the tie bar holding them together. I would buy new ones, especially if you are putting a new cam in

mine are the old style lifter no tie bar just a dog bone that sits down over them to stay in place.

I would think in 2000 they are the late 500 hp and may be the updated lifter.. still you have alot of hours on them and would replace

If they wasent $1100.00 for 2 sets i would not be asking.

thanks guys

Thats not a bad price for 2 sets, you can get a good dogbone lifter thats not OEM thats around $635 I'am not going to pitch you a sale for them, so I'll refer you to RM Builder he's a friend of mine. By the way at 500 hrs they need replaced and the wheel bearings do wear, just see how much side to side clearance you have and how much you can twist the wheel against the bearing and shaft.
