they have camera snakes at home depot for peeping in areas like that, around $120

I'd spend some time crawling around under the hatch feeling everywhere on that motor to try and find the origin of the laek.
Yanking the engine out could be expensive compared to a an oil line that was worn thin.
Could be a very simple repair....
Spend some time on your belly and side.....

My vote is that it isnt the engine at all. I'll bet it is the plastic fitting for your drive oil hose where the hose goes into the transom or the fitting on the bottom of your lube bottle.
