This problem only exist on 250 Super Duty 4x4, it is a known problem that is being ignored. Ball joints have been checked. I have a friend with same truck and he has similar problems but he has not had to pull over. I only have 44,000 on the vehicle. It has done it since I have had it at 18,000. Dealer cannot find anything wrong. Thanks,

The tread seperated because of low tire pressure. And why would you want to run your tire pressure low? Hope this helps.
Don't take it personally. The vehicle has been checked at the Dealer and checked out OK. Ford is ignoring the problem.

Thank you for everyones input. I just wanted to see if anone else is having the same problem. If it is brought to the attention of NHTSA, Ford will be forced to find a correction to the problem. Most of the time it rides OK. It is only uncontrolable when you hit expansion joints that are angled at hiway speeds 65 to 70 mph. In my area we have a lot of them. I have learned were most of them are and have slowed down to 60 or below before I hit them. Every once in a while you miss one. It has done it to me either towing or not towing. Ford sent me a generic letter addressing the issue, apperantly it is a known problem, NHTSA has looked into the matter however they have closed the case. The only correction they have is tire inflation which is bogus!! My tires are inflated correctly.

They had it on the rack, I stood there and watched the Tech inspect the front end, he check the ball joints, tie rod ends, stering box. Everything checked OK. He did a front end alinement and it was in spec. The only thing he adjusted was the steering wheel position. Thanks,
