Depending on the Dominator, some came from Holley with 89-90 jets and power valves. I found that mine are lean up top even after going up to 96 jets. Air bleed adjustment might be the fix. My engines are na 548's with AFR heads and 650+ hp.

Ajust the air bleed & you can use a smaller jet making a better fuel curve.

The boost reference has to be run it is being used as the regulator for the fuel pump witch is aeromotive 1000.

The motor guy pulled a plug and showed me that it was not lean he is standing behind his work. These guys are not boat guys but have done boats before and people have recommended them to me on OSO before. They just did a guys boat with 14-71 with 8 lbs of boost and they made over a 1000 hp a side not sure what he said the motor size was.

I just don't know what to do cause if i want them to cover the motor i have to take what they say is good cause they don't understand the whole OSO community and they keep telling me that the are the ones doing the motor not some people on the net.

He has said they are covering the motor we haven't went over for how long. So it makes me feel like my hands are tied.

I guess i don't like the idea of using the plugs to tell me if things are running right. They are not putting it back on the dyno.

I have asked them to take a look what you guys have been saying. I even told him that people had recomended them on here the guy was more afended then anything.

I mean i know that these guys know there **** cause they do and its quit a few people that have recommended them to me. They are just not full time boat guys.

I think what i am gonna do is print it out and take it in and leave it there i think he will look at it after i leave and see its not like i am bashing them or anything.

Also when i posted the first post i wasn't even trying to question there work i wanted to know if the power made was good or not and see about prop size.

Tyler Crockett is a great marine engine builder and he is here on the board. As a matter of fact, he is in a running thread in general discussion about a SB2 engine he built. Why don't you shoot him a PM? He has a dyno and he tunes anything, carb or fuel injection, na or supercharged. He can give you the straight answers.

If you can try a 27 Mirage Plus and don't have to buy it, it is probably a good place to start but with as much power as your engine could make once it is tuned I think you will need more pitch. A 4 blade Bravo 1 will also give you more stability and that will seem more important as your speed goes up. I can appreciate your dilema in dealing with your engine builder. Been there and done that. However, all of us on her that have suggested your engine is running too lean are not running around with engines that are way too rich. We are simply going by the numbers that the dyno print out is showing. Is the builder saying the numbers on the sheet are wrong?

Dennis Rogers just finished a very similar build on my motor and Tyler dynoed mine 5/5/09 and the numbers are where these guys are talking. Tyler was shooting for average 11.8 AFR and mine ran high 10's to low 12's running the 741 cam on a 502 EFI w/Procharger. I can no longer upload not being a paying member but the dyno sheet is on Boat F. in the performance section. I can upload there free. The dyno vid is in the Active THunder section here.
