Fuel woes
Allright guru's, I was cruising on the lake yesterday, 3500 Rpm, and switched to other tank to see how much fuel was in it, and it was bone dry, so immediately switched back to other half full tank. About 5 seconds later engine lost power. Long story short, no fuel. Started taking lines off to check for clogs with no luck. Thought the Imco fuel switch may have a clog. No luck there. Got towed back to shore. Filled up empty tank, took cover off fuel filter/separator and filled housing and reattached. Cranked back up and ran flawlessly. My question is, Is this common with the fuel pump on stock '07 496 HO? Do they loose prime that easy, vapor lock? Maybe new gasket on pump? Any insght would be appreciated. I did also notice on the imco fuel swtich, that the valve was backwards, must have got spun around. thanks
