Agree, why leave a potential problem around when the permanent fix is so cheap?

Because I want to be in the water tomorrow!

After cleaning up with a wire brush, and brake cleaner, I coated the inside with Permatex rust stopper. This will stop the rusting. The coating is super thin and I honestly dont think that there will be an issue.

Perhaps later this season or next, I'll get a pair of aluminum covers and be done with it.
