I like Amsoil. I use Mobil 1. Ask yourself, how many enignes have you seen wear out or suffer a mechanical failure related to oil if they were run with the proper viscosity oil that was changed at proper intervals? There are motors running around with 300K on them using dino oil. Synthetics have their place but for the majority of consumers they are unnecessary. I just wish I could go down to O'Reilly's and pick up Amsoil instead of having to join what seems like Amway to buy it! I only responded to this thread as I am trying to get to 2000 posts!

Man this debate can go on forever..synthetic vs conventional.
If I did not know anything about oil...I would just use the manufacturer's product (ie Merc semi synthetic 25W-40) and live a happy stress free life. ...but then there is M-1 V-Twin and Amsoil 20W-50...alas |
