Default Help diagnosing a problem

03 Baja w/ twin 496HO w/ Bravo1X. running approx 4000rpm when suddenly alarms go off. Quickly shut down. All temps and fluids good. Restarted and noise coming from rear of portside engine sounded like down by drive. Shifted it to forward and now stuck in forward. Limped home for over 1 hr on 1 engine. Any ideas? TIA

Silly question, but how does the drive fluid level look? Does the oil smell burnt or have water or shiny things in it?
