Default Possibly purchasing Scarab

First thing I am new to this forum and I am thinking about buying a boat. I am looking at a 1993 38 Scarab clean with 200 hrs 500 cobra motors and alfa drives. What can be said about this boat was this a good model. Whatever info would be well appreciated .
Thanks

why would a 93 38' w/ 500's have alpha's? my 91 35' has trs's, so i would think a 93 would have bravos.

Are you sure about the Alpha drives? Most on OSO would not buy a used HP boat without a complete marine survey, especially on a boat that is 16 years old. A survey will likely be the best $ you ever spend on boating. Someone on here can give you a lead on a local surveyor.

Ok he posted a lot of pics but none of the drives so when I asked him
I could have swore he said alphas but I will check.
How much for a survey
Comparing the Scarab to other 93 boats how does it rate
Also He said that it was a fresh water boat kept on a rack indoors untill he purchased it two years ago where he used it in salt water
but he said he flushed it an all that.

I think a survey is about $20/foot.
