I bought mine about 5 years ago.
I guess they had just come onto the market.
I paid $65.00 for it back then. I've seen many adds for it since and they all quote the same price, even J.C. Whitney, where I bought mine.

Tell you what, Iggy, I'll give ya 65 bucks for yours and you can buy a new one. I really like the idea of the tach in that one so I might just pay the money and be done with it. I had a really nice Snap-On adjustable timing light that was about 20 years old but it quit working after it hit the garage wall at a high rate of speed. It had an really annoying intermittent operation problem and one day I just snapped. And so did it.

I had a condition with my SBC's about 15 hours after OH similar to yours- I had overhauled the carbs, and installed new filters in the carb inlets as well. The engines started to stumble and not make power, and I could not make it 3000 RPM's after this condition got worse.
Tried fresh fuel, new water-separator fuel filters- everything.
Last resort was to try them with the carb filters removed- engines ran perfectly ever since. This won't hurt anything, BTW.
A week later I ran into a guy with stumbling/low rpm problems with his Baja Force- we pulled the filter out the Q-Jet- ran great!
You can add an in-line filter if you want- Gadgets, Purolator etc. all make good ones. The big spin-on should be good enough.

Patrick,
I'm in Arlington and have gone through my Q-Jet extensively having set it up for my 383. If you need a hand with getting it straight or someone to tune while you drive, etc. give me a buzz at [email protected] .
