i have a 87 regal velocity 23 with 454 not sure off hp, alpha one drive not sure of gears with a 24 pitch 4 blade bravo prop it goes great but i cant get the full speed cause when i trim up the drive it starts porposing horrably ecspecialy at full throtle i have to keep it almost all the way down. i can raise it a little at crusing speed bout 3800 rpm but any more and it starts hoppin. it dosent have tabs and is very light in the bow. plese help me fix this cause i know it will fly

sounds like you need tabs.

I had a 89 Regal Velocity with a 454 mag and bravo I drive. Never had a porpoise problem. I am wondering if it a hull problem.

Put a straight edge on the last 4ft of the boat. Check to see if a hook has developed in the hull.It can happen easily if the transom is not supported correctly by the trailer.

My 22 has a very similar bottom. Depending on what prop I have on the boat, it will porpose at cruise speed if trimmed high. But its like its on rails at wot......... Maybe try changing props!!??
