I boat on the lower Colorado river. The water temp is about 88 degrees, and my motors stay at 160 during the summer.

I have a single 454 mag mpi raw water cooled. When I am idling or in a no wake zone, my gauge reads a little below 160*. Since it has been pretty humid and the water temps are in the 70's. Under power my gauge will sometimes jump to 163*. When it's been cooler out or at night it stays dead on 160* or below.

I thought I read somewhere the engine temp can vary from 150*-170*?
