496 mag vs 496 Mag HO

can anyone tell me the difference in the two engines? what gives it its extra 50HP

As far as I know, the only difference is cam and ECU.

YEP,50 HP FROM A CAM CHANGE&ECM REPROGRAM.

I have a new in the box cam if your interested. I'm guessing Whipple could reprogram your Mag computer to stock HO for 600-700. PM me if your interested in the cam

Doesn't that burn your azz,that they uptick the mag ho for a cam and a different program in the ecm.

Mercury Marine's actual cost adder for going from a 375HP Mag to a 425HP Mag HO = actually about ZERO!
$4Kto $5K for the UPTICK?
Nice little profit center!
They will be doing the same thing with their new 502 Mag and 502Mag HO being released later this year!
