Default No room for supercharger!

I was going to put a procharger on my 496ho but there does'nt seem to be room.I only have 1 inch in front of the pulley.Theres plywood in front, that would have to be cut out.Is there any way the motor can be moved back a bit to give more clearence or shoud I look at other options to get more power out of this motor, head mods headers, etc. The boat is a Campion Chase 800 running 71 mph on gps on a good day.

Move the motor back......not going to happen but you can move your seat forward or cut a hole. Nobody likes the cutting route but for the most part only you will know about it.

Check a whipple out. They sometimes use a ribbed harmonic balancer to get into those tight situations, although I'm not sure about the 496 in particular. Give dustin a call.

Can't move the seat forward it's moulded into the boat. The floor and the wall behind the seat would have to be cut out ,some wires moved and the gas tank might be in the way.I guess we'll have to look at it in more detail before we get the sawsall out.I hope there are some other modifacations to improve the the power of this engine if a supercharger won't fit.If anyone has any suggestion's on any modifacation it would be appreciated.

I agree with US1Fountain!!! I had to totally modify the back seat. I had to cut into it almost 3 inches and had a race shop fabricate an aluminum box and had to shave foam out of the seat to clear box. From outside looking in it all looks stock til the engine hatch goes up.

It's always cool the reaction I get when the hatch is up!!!

Nothin cooler than a blower under the hatch for visual impact!!

Go for it you won't be sorry!!!!

Thank's I,m going to go ahead with the procharger installation Because that,s all I,ve been thinking about all winter and have to have one.It does'nt matter how much cutting or extra cost.I think supercharging is the only way to go.Get the best forget the rest.
