I have the "old" style Bravo 1 power steering actuator and would like to change over to the new style. The new style uses Merc's quick connects for the power steering hoses and the corresponding hoses are very expensive. I would like to make up my own braided lines and found the adapters from Russell, the problem is I don't know if the adapters need to be metric or standard thread. In my new actuator the bigger hole measures 5/8" and the smaller hole measures 9/16". I tried to start a fine thread 9/16x18 bolt in the smaller hole but it didn't want to go easy so now I'm thinking it might be metric. Anyone made up their own power steering lines?
