That has happened to tons of people because procharger makes it sound like anyone with a Craftsman tool set can install it on Saturday and his chit will run 25 mph faster on Sunday. It is a great sales tactic that works pretty well, considering the amount of kits they sell. Unfortunately, that is not how real life goes. Procharger does not mention anything about upgrading the fuel system(pickup, filter head, hoses), reprogramming the ecm(which must be done), etc. The problem is that if most people knew what was really involved (time and money) in properly installing a supercharger, they wouldn't do it. You can easily spend an additional $1000-$2000, or more, above and beyond the price of the kit and the install.
When everything is done properly, the Prochargers work well. I have done many, many kits that have run for years and years. If I had my choice, I would still choose a Whipple.
