Default Help On A 272 Sr1

1989 272 Sr1 Formula. Has Any One Removed The Factory Wedge Between The Outside Chine And The First Strake? What Were The Pros And Cons? Boat Has Twin 454 365hp Merc W/bravos , Boat Feels Stuck In The Water, With No Bow Lift. Also Any Feedback On Success W/1 Inch Shorties? Any Help Would Be Great.

the mirage + like to be trimmed, ALOT! most cases on the guage trim to # 7-8 thats usually where the boat starts to dance on the ass end with the mirage + props..

See if you can borrow a set of merc revolution 4 props those should get the boat's ass out of the water..

hava a 90 272. tried grinding that wedge out. it does not take long to go through the fiberglass and see wood. i ended up taking out about 1/2 the wedge and reglassing and gelling that area. now my plan is to fill forward of the wedge to get it flat. i've talked to a few people and the only benefit was a increase in cruise speed. supposedly did not help top end. i think your tachs are off my 272 had 502mpis with precision marine cams and remapping. i went about 71-72 with 25+s at 49-5000. best prop was a 24 4blade hydromotive 51-5200 and 74. i am also very interested to hear if anyone else is planning on removing these wedges and the benefits
