That not true. You can use a double roller with a Gen VI cover. Rollmaster makes a Gen VI double roller chain with billet gears. I use them quite often. If you use a MK IV/ Gen V cam and a Gen VI cover, you have to use a button from a small block because it is shorter. I still usually have to shorten the button some to get the endplay correct.

Obviously the easiest thing to do is to use a step nose Gen VI cam with the retainer plate. You can then use the Rollmaster Gen VI double roller set with the stock Gen VI cast aluminum cover.

Eddie we posted at the same time, I was trying to explain the differences between Gen V and Gen VI blocks and covers. Thanks for the info on the timing chains, I stand corrected.
