Hey guys... this is sonicbunny's husband...

We have a 03 Sonic 31ss with 575sci's....

Great motors but here is what we've learned...

Blowers need rebuilding at around 200 hrs...
Heads need to be gone through at around 300 hrs.... we are there now but will be running the boat this season then pulling the heads this coming fall for rebuild.

The scream of the blower is worth the wife screaming at how much fuel they drink.... lol

You don't by chance crack those engine hatches a little when there screaming do you. (music to the ear) Only to make sure they get sufficient cool air right. RIGHT.... LOL.

Early 575's had better blowers (Weiand, not B&M) and not so good head gaskets. Later 575's had not so good blowers (B&M's that had bearing issues) but better head gaskets (Cometic ?), from what I know about those engines. We never had any issues with ours and we ran it in North Carolina heat all summer long. It always started right up and ran fine. My wife and daughter did complain alot about the blower whine, though

I would not go to TBS to get them rebuilt. I, along with many others on here, use Darrin Meyers in MI. They run around 500-600 for a complete rebuild.
