After reading through the thread once again I figured I would contact Dupli-Color Paints who is one of the leading aftermarket engine paints. My question to them was regarding paint color vs heat dissipation. I know I have read articles pertaining to the above and even questioned it myself however I personally have no way of proving the theories true or false. I strongly believe in most marine applications we have more issues building heat than anything. That's my experience over the last 24 yrs anyway.

I can't say that one color will dissipate heat any better than another. The
Engine Enamel product we offer contains ceramic, and that is what helps
dissipate the heat more evenly throughout the coating. We don't have any
testing that shows that one certain color will do a better job of this than
others.

I try to allways rig counter flow. I don't have any research to back it up, just what experienced guys have allways taught me to do, and it makes sense.

Again, it goes back to using an oversized cooler, and then using a T- stat on the oil to maintain the proper temp.
