Thanks very much guys. My email address is [email protected]. On my 32 spectra project with TRS drives I am thinking my X-Dim / Drive height is on the high side which is actually fine. The boat performed well prior to my rebuilds which just had 454/330's in it. Well meaning handling NOT speed by any means. It ran low to mid 60's with stock set up. This is a 78 boat and was supposedly a splash from Cig. I have not confirmed that yet though. Regardless the drive height seems high for a 78 boat with TRS Drives. Maybe I'll run up to the shop in a minute and post a pic. and you can share your thoughts. I measured everything up for Gellner when we were in the cam spec stage but can't find where I put them. Just let me know your thoughts after posting a pic. By looking at some of the others they do seem on the high side as well. Maybe not though.

Thanks again everyone for your helping out. Please check back in a few minutes and I will post a pic. May not be the best as I have the boat pretty close to the rear of the shop and don't have time right now to pull it forward for a better shot.

Take care for now.
John

John,

Take a tape measure with you and measure the distance between the center of the bullet and the bottom of the hull directly in front of the bullet (drives need to be level w/ bottom of boat.

That's the problem. Right now I have the drives up a tad with the batterys out so I can't move them down unless I crack a line or throw a battery in. Here is a pic though. Now that I look at it, it appears to be lower than I thought. I can still measure and get pretty close however will post a pic for now.

Thanks again,
John

And no rude comments in regards to the crusty old drives and the lovely brown stripes either. LOL... I am actually going to take several picutes of this beast real soon and post before and after pics. drives are coming off this week for paint and boat will be prepped for paint. This is actually a pretty cool project and some may have seen the deck mods I have posted as well. Also have a fresh set of 496's ready install before I paint. I am going to paint it a Canary yellow with black stripes. New interior should be arriving any day now also. I bought this boat as a project and something fun to do with the kid. After having it for a short while I realized how much I missed offshore boating. I was affraid of this happening. LOL...

Pics below are the ones I located on Riverdavesplace. This guy did a spectacular job on this.

This is a pic of the deck mods before and after. When I bought the boat I had complete intensions of doing these deck mods and was able to locate one on riverdavesplace that did the same thing. Pretty cool alteration.
