there's not much dirt on the water, all you need is good spark arestors. there are a lot of different styles out there and at a wide price range, what engine are you running?

i am runnig 540dart just redone 650ponys. . i ask this?? because a few guys say some spark arestor are better than other ?they say some of them take hp away from the motor ? so thats y i am asking??????

if you run a 10" x 3" it would be plenty for your engine, look in cp performace or eddie marine, I have seen some on the classifieds here also. you will get more restriction from a K&N than you will a spark arrestor of the same size.

Summit Racing has spark arrestors may cheaper than CP or Eddie marine.

I have seen lost HP with the K&N on the dyno. The gaffrig 10 X 5 ( good up to 1250 CFM) will flow good for that application with no power lose, might get away with the 10 X 3 .

The base plate makes the most diff, then just run a wire mesh 1 layer.

To be legal, the flame arresters have to have a Coast Guard stamp.

Do they make any wire mesh only for the Merc 600sci's? I have K&N's right now.

I have never seen a K&N air filter on a carberated race engine. I have been to several offshore events as well as Poker runs.

The biggest application of air cleaners is the oval 3X10 using stainless steel wire mesh to keep out debris. Why would anyone with a high HP motor want to choke the air intake system?

Spend tons of money and give everyone a laugh with a car air filter!!!!
