Default 500 Hp Carbed-replacement springs

What is the best spring to use? I have listed all of the springs I know of to use. I included the costs too. Any thoughts?

Seems to me a lot of people have used the Comp 929 springs. They seem to be a little light in load pressure.

I think the Isky are supposed to a better spring but originally thought the cost was in the $400 range.

For a stock or even a modified 500 hp, the 929 is more than enough spring pressure. That engine doesn't need over 400# over the nose at 5200-5400 rpm.

Someone made a comment they lost 7lbs on the comp 929 springs after one season of running. Dopes that seem right?

I don't want my springs to only last me 1-2 seasons. IO would like to get a fdew more before I have to do a complete rebuild on the 500's...then I want to make bigger power.

All depends on his setup. That is Rob's engines you are talking about. I know he turns them pretty hard (6000 rpm or more), so they will not last as long in his setup as they will in yours. They will easily last you 250-300 hours in a stock 500. You can use the Comp 929 or the Isky 8005.(?)

I agree with eddie. Additionally, just set the seat pressure up 5 or so pounds to account for loss in spring tension from new. That is what I do anyway.

Agree on the Isky's 8005 for the 502 MPI.
