Stereo install question
Installing 3 pair of 6.5 polk DB component speakers and 2 polk 12 inch subs in sealed boxes with Alpine head unit. I just purchased the boat and stereo system was stolen, so I have to fill the existing holes! Any recommendations on Amps? Im trying to balance sound and low power usage. The system will be ran off 2 dedicated batteries. Can this be done effectively with one amp? Thanks in advance!

I have my pdx's wired for normal 4 ohm load. takes more amps but running 2 ohms pushes your equipment a little harder. |

Alpine pdx's. small, efficient, powerful & relatively cheap on ebay. It would be hard to run all that off one amp. The pdx's put out same power whether its 2 or 4 ohm load. You can probably do a 4.100 or 4.150 for the comps, have 2 pair wired in parallel on two of the channels, & the other pair on the other two channels. You would then have that channel available if you decide to add another pair. You could probably then use a 1.600 or 1.1000 for the two subs; depending on the subs ohms.

I will check out the PDX amps, thanks... |
I just purchased the Alpine 4.150 and 1.600 hope they work good!
