More hydraulic steering questions

Hi All,
I've been through all the old posts, can't figure this one out.
1) Does it matter how a hynautic helm pump is mounted? Fittings up, down, to a side?
2) I am installing the rams and fabbing up wingplates for a dual TRS installation. I'll have the rams mounted to the centerline of the boat. Based on the geometry that I've mapped out, there is no way that I can set up the mounting points so that both rams are not extended or retracted slightly when I trim the drives. It seems like the helm pump is going to try to "resist" this and the system will bind up when the drives are raised. Does this happen in real life? The system I have has a uses a H42 helm, two K5 rams and a relief valve.
3) The hynautic literature I found recommends using copper refrigeration tubing to go from the helm to the relief valve? Good idea or bad idea? I probably have 15-18' from the helm to the center of transom.
