my old style gps livorsi antenna with the 3 ring terminal battery went dead, my friend has the new antenna with the molex or the plug connector. i want to know if you can cut the plug off the new style antenna an crimp on the ring terminals and if i hook if up to my speedo that doesnt use the plug connection ,will it work? i live in the carribean an its hard to order things and this is right here. need to know, thx

are the wires the same color or do you have a gps on the boat that you could use the NEEMA output on??

the wires are the same color and no i dont have a gps on the boat . i was wondering is there anything different inside the new style antenna with the plug other than the battery they took out and the plug on the outside of the antenna that would cause it not to work with the old style livorsi gps guage . on the livorsi website it says the new style antenna with the plug connector works only with the monster gauge and the 3 ring connectors work only with the standard gps gauge. i dont know if they are only saying that because of the plug difference or as i said before is there a difference inside the antenna. i think its just the plug is the difference but i am not 100% sure. thanks
