Plugged water line in Bravo Outdrive?
Got motor all back together last nite and wanted to fire it up today on the muffs.
Brand spankin new impellor & housing, both are toasted! No problemo, new one tommorrow for nutter $90. I think they plan this stuff.
Water flowing at great rate from muffs, so good up to the outdrive.
Removed incoming line at seawater pump, still nothing.
Removed the elbow on the transom assembly that attaches to the formentioned incoming line, still nothing.
Checked for a kinked supply hose on the outdrive itself, no kinks.
Gotta be sumthin inside the outdrive!
Anyone ever run across this same thing? Will find out later after pull drive back off.
Done venting.
Jerry

US1 Fountain,
I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I know the venting thing all too well these days. I'm not familiar with Sea Strainers so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Do you need to fill the Sea Strainer before the suction of the seawater pump will pull water from the drive? It seems there should be enough flow to prime the system. You could try to back-flow the system if you haven't pulled the drive yet.
Good luck,
Dan

Found it!!!!!
Pulled the outdrive off. The supply hose from the gimble to the transom plate was clear. On to the outdrive.........it was clear too,, so what the hell???? Soooooooo rolled outdrive outside on the "outdrive stand" and hooked up the muffs and....... nothing but water all around the muffs. Both sides, so it was flowing thru the outdrive itself from 1 side to the other, just not up it. Tried regular muffs then, now have flow thru drive! What the hell is going on with this?
It was the damn Quicksilver muff. This is the style that has a rod that goes thru the pickup holes in order to prevent it from sliding down like the clamp on style. Damn thing is, I bought this one 2 yrs ago to replace the clamp around style, because that one slid down and starved the motor and burned up my pump then too, and now again with this clamp thru muff.
Looks like going back to the clamp around cheapies!!!

I had the exact problem this spring on the sb engine. Did everyting you did and found nothing. In my case, I think I had a prime problem with the sea pump. I ran the motor with the garden hose stuck in the intake hose to the pump and all was good. After that, I double clamped the hose at the transom and bang.. mega flow out the tips. Glad you goter fixed with little trouble.
