Not nessessarily a reason to avoid, just be more cautious. New VC's and painting intake doesn't quite fall under tearing into a motor, just blinging it out.

It must be similiar to these Merc 575 hp efi's. The sticker on the manifold says so.

Its a 502MPI 415hp. I think some came through with that blue intake, it seems to me I have seen that before someplace. Certainly an aftermarket flame arrest though.

I have seen them in blue before, it could have been that way from the factory. I could not tell you what year or why they did it.

That does look familiar...I knew a guy with a late 90's Baja H2X with a 502 MAG MPI 415 HP (Just like my black one) and I could swear it was painted blue...not sure if it was factory or not.
