Default Scarab takes forever to plane out

Ok my boat seems to take forever to plane out(89 22ft scarab w/350 mag). With my trim all the way down my nose is high enough that I have to stand to see in front of me when I take off. At WOT it still takes longer than it should to get down so I can trim up. Mechanic recommended getting a hydrofoil to help me plane out quicker. Is this something that is a good idea?

What pitch blade are you running , 3 or 4 blade . A mirage 23 pitch 3 blade worked with a bb with stock power , maybe a 21 pitch with a small block. The hydro things real drag on the outdrive and kill speed.

3 blade, pitch I will have to look into. Thats what I read is that the foils will kill performance. Will a 4 blade help?

I'm having the exact same problem with my 86 22', and when I bought it it came with a hydrofoil.

I need to double check on my blade pitch though.....its a 3 blade.

With the 4 blade it will ride nicer, and you will get better out off the hole , rember you need a round ear prop for a scarab ( bow lifter not a stern lifter like a hydoautomitve )

Put you trim tabs full down for starting out.

Get a 4 blade. I had a hydrofoil on my little boat, didn't make any difference.
