Default Bypassing Unused PS Pump

I bought a couple of serpentine belts for my 496HO's last fall. When I went to install them recently, I discovered I was given the incorrect belts. Because I no longer have the receipt, the marina won't take them back. It turns out they are for the 8.1S inboard engine which doesn't have a PS pump. My Port engine doesn't connect to the steering, anyway. Can I just install one of these belts, bypassing the PS pump? The pump does have fluid and appears to cycle through a cooler and return. Physically, it looks like I can do this. I just want to make sure there isn't something I'm not considering that might harm the pump.

Here's a pic of the 8.1S. You can see it has no PS pump or the idler above it. Everything else looks the same.
