Default Total timing ???

What is the correct way to set the total timing with a dial back timing light. Do I just set the dial for say 35 degree's and adjust the distrubitor to the timing is at zero on the balancer. Or I start at 10 degree's and dial 35 on the toming light and adjust the distrubitor to zero on the balancer. Some info would be great Jp

Only way you should be setting total timing is at maximum advance revs.If you know what revs total timing advance is achieved.Run it a bit past and thats how you set it.
