Default Question for the Oil Gurus

So i posted this on performance boats and so far everyone is stumped. Let's see if anyone here knows:

From 4/15/10:
So I'm killing time at West Marine yesterday comparing oild prices and i notice something with the Merc Quicksilver synthetic blend:
2 differnt bottle, 1 says it is "Inboard/sterndrive 4 stroke" the other says 4 stroke "outboard" oil. Both are 25w-40, both are synthetic blend, both are 4 stroke, I read the entire labels on both and the only difference i could find other than a different color label was that the "outboard" version comes by the liter and "inboard" by the quart. Am I missing something? What would be the difference between these two?

I am sure they both would work in either application.

Maybe outboards use more of the metric system in their measurements so its easier for Merc to have two different sizes of product so they arent getting calls from customers or shops asking for conversion assistance.
