No, sererate grounds from both switches. The engines are grounded together though.
also check all the battery connections, ome may be loose? |
Are you close to the Bermuda triangle.

I would check the main engine harness connector on the starboard engine they may have hooked both power feeds to the ignition switches from 1 engine. Un plug it and check for corrosion other than that GROUNDS, GROUNDS AND MORE GROUNDS

Could this have killed both engines at the same time? I have 2 batteries and 2 switches. I was running both switches on number one at the time.

Now that I think of it Fleg was running 2 yrs ago at the run and he hit a wave and when he landed his battery cable came off it caused a short that fried both his coils...I don't know if this is the same type of issue, but he still had power to everything so doesn't sound like it.

I straight wired the hatch to get it up. There is a circuit breaker on each engine was tripped. I now have both engines where they will start. Now I just have to find out what made them trip. I'm going to replace the battery switch first. That is one of the common links between the engines. The starboard switch runs both ignitions, so if the switch has a bad contact or something that could have tripped the breakers.

Anyone got any idea how the breaker that's on the engine is wired. What does it control. I know when they were tripped, that everything was dead on the helm along with the engines. The battery cables are tight, any ideas what else to check. The engines crank and run good, so it's something that is intermittent. I did have a starter problem, but I replaced it over the winter and it seems to be working fine now. We've also had some other gremlins on that engine, like the tach and oil pressure gauges bouncing up and down. But we have checked all the grounds, and main wiring harness and nothing is loose.
